Portulaca oleracea ‘Balriorg’, commonly known as Electric Orange Purslane, is a vibrant ornamental variety of purslane known for its striking electric orange blooms and succulent, crunchy leaves. This low-growing, spreading plant is perfect for ground cover, rock gardens, or containers, where its bright flowers add eye-catching color all summer long. Like other purslane varieties, it is extremely drought-tolerant and thrives in hot, sunny locations, making it ideal for xeriscaping.
The leaves of ‘Balriorg’ are also edible and nutrient-rich, with a slightly tangy, lemony flavor that makes them a great addition to salads and cooked dishes. Its hardiness, rapid growth, and self-seeding ability make it a low-maintenance choice for gardens.
